Dementia and Carer Event 27th November

Congratulation and thanks to all of our patients, staffs, carers, speakers, guests, PPG members and Abbeyview surgery staffs for delivering such a successful interactive seminar last Friday 27th November 12-3pm. There was good participation from local businesses, police, Peterborough Hospitals NHS Trust.

It was very well attended with lovely presentations, lots of positive enthusiasm and awareness tips for dementia and carer related issues. We came to know LPFT and commissioning views and plans for Dementia in Lincolnshire and support arrangements from Mr Paul Jackman. Lincolnshire carer partnership was represented by Mr Clive Yates with enthralling and informative all round discussion of new carer act, carer need and support. Alzheimer’s society explained their new service for Dementia Family Support and referral pathways. Dr Banerjee explained dementia care and support available in Abbeyview surgery, pro active prevention issues and facts and figures to raise awareness. The event is highly appreciated by our patients who were our main target audience. Mr John Hayes, local MP also kindly attended and gave a short speech to hail our effort to promote high standard of patient care and vision.

A special thanks to our dynamic and enthusiastic PPG who were a major player of organising this along with our practice. A huge thanks for Abbeyview staffs who tirelessly worked, organised and volunteered to work extra unpaid hours to make the event happen. A big round of applause for everyone to be so kind and generous.
