NEWS – November 2015 |
DEMENTIA AWARENESS AND CARER EVENT
Organised by the Abbeyview Surgery and its Patient Participation Group, we are providing a Dementia Awareness and Carer Event:
Date : Friday 27th November 2015
Time : 12 – 2.30pm
Venue : The Royal British Legion Hall, Crowland
Our patients and/or their carers who would like to learn more about how Dementia affects the lives of both the patient and their family are invited to attend this event, together with our local businesses and support groups.
The first part of the event will be ‘Dementia Friends’ training. This will be provided by Lincolnshire Carers and Young Carers Partnership.
After a break for tea and coffee, the focus of the event will turn to Dementia patients and their Carers. The Carers Partnership will be providing information about the recent changes to the Care Act which may be useful to anyone who is a Carer.
This will be followed by the Alzheimer’s Society who will provide information about local services.
There will be speakers from Healthwatch, Crowland Cares and our Practice, together with an opportunity for a question and answer session. There will also be information tables on services available locally.
We hope you will join us and help to make Crowland and the surrounding villages a more Dementia Friendly environment for everyone.
There will be no charge to attend.
